Joseph A. Brazauskas

Senior Counsel

Joseph Brazauskas assists clients with navigating complex federal legislative and regulatory processes with a focus on energy, environment, and natural resources. Joseph advocates for clients before Congress and the Executive Branch, and provides counsel for clients in matters involving Congressional investigations.

Prior to joining Bracewell, Joseph served for nearly a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Counsel on the House Oversight and Reform Committee and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee. He also served as Associate Administrator for the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations and as an Associate Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As EPA’s chief liaison with Congress and the nation's 50 state governors and legislators, Joseph also served as the chief lobbyist for EPA before Senate and House Congressional Committees.

Interesting Career Note: Joseph’s career in government found him learning about climate research on the Greenland ice sheet, conducting a Congressional investigation at a crawfish festival in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, and facilitating a hearing on energy resources in Fargo, North Dakota.

Fast Fact: Joseph met his wife Maggie on the squash court and proposed on the very same court a few years later. They are both looking forward to teaching their daughters Alice and Daisy how to play squash!
