FY2022 Budget Reconciliation & Infrastructure 

Reconciliation negotiations between Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have picked up this week after Senator Manchin’s efforts to pull together a bipartisan energy package fell apart. However, while there are increased negotiations, those involved are keeping tight-lipped on progress and content in what seems to be an effort to prevent them from falling apart once again. With the midterm elections fast approaching and other priorities, such as conference on the China competitiveness legislation, taking up valuable time, Majority Leader Schumer and Senator Manchin will likely have to pick up the pace should they wish to pass any sort of reconciliation package before the September 30 deadline.
