FY2022 Budget Reconciliation & Infrastructure
Negotiations on the Build Back Better package continued to stall, with rising inflation adding to Senator Joe Manchin's (D-WV) ongoing refrain that the government must constrain federal spending and avoid "adding more fuel to an economy already on fire." Democratic leadership has been working on developing a pared down version of the legislation centered around environmental provisions, especially clean energy tax incentives, but they have not been in close contact with Sen.
